"Nike Air Yeezy" ? KANYE WEST NIKE SIGNATURE SHOE

So rumors has been flying about Kanye West’s "Graduation" album, whose cover features a Takashi Murakami flying teddy bear (which represents West) wearing the McFLY 2015’s worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future II. The McFLY 2015 project is suppose to be a grassroot movement to get Nike to make available to consumers the futuristic-looking sneakers seen in the 1989 movie Back to the Future Part 2.

The project has gained some headway, recently discovering that Nike actually patented the shoes back in 1990. For a pair of shoes that never actually existed in the mainstream, the McFlys are making a runaway comeback. At least that is the rumor for now. Kanye West will be the first non athlete to ever have a Nike Signature shoe. As of now, the information is lose, but we all know Kanye is big on fashion and sneakers. Those bad boyz are banannas.

THE BRITISH INVASION; ARTFUL DODGER

Artful Dodger is a NY-based street wear brand owned by British designer Scott Langston. The brand is influenced by a European men sweater tradition and takes its name from a character from the Charles Dickens novel "Oliver Twist." The brand's design is thematically based on the conflict between two rival gangs at a fictitious carnival in 1815. Artful Doger was launched in 2004. The brands first delivery was for Spring '06. The debut collection appeared in Fred Segal, Up Against the Wall, and Lounge, featuring tees, polos, fleece, and denim.

Trailblazing the trend of colorful hoodies and t-shirts, jackets and jeans, Artful Dodger brand is fast becoming the most sought after urban brand. The clothes are bold and one would need true Artful Dodger attitude to pull it off.

Hip-hop mogul Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter signed a deal and bought British designer Scott Langton's luxury clothing brand Artful Dodger - for $15 million (£7.5 million) cash. The rap star completed the purchase together with his business partners Iconix Brand Group Inc under the company name Scion - a joint venture between the two parties. This guy gets his hands on everything. Anyway, So if you don't know, well, now you do. I hate to do free advertising but check it out

"TRUE" FASHION IS FICKLE

The True Religion Jeans known for its famous horseshoe shape logo and incredible stitchings is the popular and famous denim brand these days. But as we all know FASHION IS BITTERLY fickle, and nowhere is that more apparent than in the premium denim business, where $300 can go from being the season's hottest must-have item to sitting in a pile in the back of a closet.

Early investors in the True Religion brand have benefited handsomely from the high-end denim craze, but if their stakes are to continue to grow the company has to expand its brand beyond jeans. Not long ago nothing was hotter that True Religion's jeans. Sales leaped in two years, to $139 million in 2006 from just $28 million in 2004. They're seen adding another 20% this year to $167 million. That's fueled a share-price performance that's nothing less than stunning.

But wait, is there still hope? considering that such product is a trendy thing. Also, there has been a lot of knock offs of the True Religion brand being produced these days. It seems like the brand is plummeting from luxury to commodity. Everyone and their dad now wants a pair. For investors, you better start thinking twice. Unless the brand has a strategy in mind, I won't bet my money on anything. And for those interfering with my brand swag because I happen to be a loyalist, I've got this to say "MONARCHY." Commoditize that!

GOOD MOVE; BAD MOVE

Personally, I think if you really 'getfresh' you'd know about the new prada knock offs by FILA called the Fila Helmsman. Any true sneaker connoisseur would recognize this new Fila Helmsman as a true and disrespectful knock off of the classic and legendary Prada leather uppers. Is Fila that desperate for redemption? And to top it off, they know better not to market this bullshit to the fashion oriented cities, so they decided to take on the South. They are utilizing Hurricane Chris, the rapper with the famous single "hey bebe" to endorse and market these fake pradas. lol. I'm from NewYork, so we call these things 'fumgrazis' (fake).

Lets admitt, the brand is falling into obscurity. I mean, Fila use to have a lot of respect, but they lost their mojo somewhere down the line. The Helmsman is available in lows and highs, retail $80 and $90. At first, you might think its a good move, providing an affordable look alike shoe for those who can't afford the real pradas, but then again, the Fila logo is not doing it justice. And then again, its not the same italian leather material. So in conclusion, is this a good move by FILA? You be the judge....

WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT FRESH KICKS???

Just when you think you've seen it all. To all you Nike, Jordan, DC's and so on followers, well, let the freshness begin. I hate to do free advertising, but damn! look at these babies, they on fire. This sneaker brand is called Supra and this bad boyz are set to come out in the spring in limited editions. For those that don't know, most of these exclusive brands originate from CA. California is running everything these days, from jeans, to urban apparels and skateboard sneakers. These sneaks are constructed from high quality materials, with an all black upper, white midsole, and foot straps. For those of us who likes to getfresh, especially on exclusives like these, well lets just say if you want to step your fresh game up, you've got to step your money game up. $200 + when they drop. They on fire so I got to get my hands on 'em.

THE POSSIBLE NEXT THING

Well, we already know that popular culture consists of the music, movies, sports, books, celebrities, and other forms of entertainment that the mass market consumes, but the relationship between marketing and popular culture is a two way street. The goods and services that are popular at any point in time often mirror changes in the larger society. Take for instance, the harlem rapper "Jim Jones" who had the famous hit record "ballin," where people throw their hands up to mimic a fade away shot, got a high percentage of the hip hop nation wearing tight jeans, shirt and skull head belts. Today, apparel and shoe designs has picked up on the evolution of skull desings and body fit clothings since 2006.
Its 2008, and yes "Jimmy" is at it again. In his new video for his latest single "love me no more" Jim Jones is making quite the fashion statement with what can only be described as a "scarf-hoody." A designer (louie vuitton) scarf is wrapped up the head to look like a hoodie. Is this going to be another hip hop trend? Well, to be honest, I started it first, but with my Manchester United F.C scarf tho... lol..but i'm not as popular as those guys so i guess they can claim it and own it. but click on the link below and check out the video to see the madness

CREATIVES FOR OUR GENERATION

Creative Recreation was launched in Orange County, California in the Fall of 2002. The founders of Creative Recreation noticed a huge void in the footwear market. Everyone was offering either dress shoes to be worn with a suit or athletic inspired sneakers that were not acceptable at most functions for our lifestyles. No one was offering footwear to young professionals with style. Two long time friends who were already enjoying a prosperous career in the footwear industry decided they would be the ones to change the game. Realizing that this generation was not going to follow in the same footsteps as the one before them Creative Recreation began their own journey. Being successful in this generation did not require wearing a suit and tie rather it was just the opposite.

Our generation is in more control of our destiny and careers. I call it the Generation H - Hustle generation. This genre has become known for its entrepreneurial drive. Along with this came freedoms of fashion in the work place and in other social setting.
